Win98se & Benq Joybook 6000 laptop
The laptop will not boot up correctly and I cannot get past the menu boot in safe mode etc. Anyone got any ideas or what else I could try? Sure enough, after removing the drive again, to my relief, the computer worked OK but the drive is dead. The thing is that I do not even know what the display joybok itself as. I have been unable to find a Win98se driver for this. I wrecked the hard drive. Interestingly enough the driver installation process completes by skipping the missing files and the devices appears to be OK in the device manager but it appears as non existent in the control panel etc.

Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. The hard disk was totally messed up, probably due to someone trying to make things better.

Don't recommend any other monitors okay? I can remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer but AFAIK it is not possible to copy the XP installation disk to the hard drive and then install from there.
